Donna O’Connor, LCADC, LCSW, LLC
Donna O’Connor is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Arise Interventionist who specializes in addiction and family systems work at the Mental Health and Wellness Centers. Donna brings much compassion to her work with individuals, couples and families; she believes – strongly – that people who suffer emotionally are seeking a way out of their pain. As a psychotherapists specializing in addiction, Donna serves as case manager to assist clients in developing structure, balance and routine in their daily lives. She passionately guides her clients through difficult life events by providing ongoing education and support to achieve solutions that lead to healthy life changes.
Donna has practiced in a variety of educational and clinical settings. She is an expert presenter and has given talks on drug and alcohol addiction as well as current mental health issues.
In addition, Donna is a Certified Arise Interventionists (CAI) who consults and provides guidance to families during crisis. With her team, they handle crisis intervention in a supportive yet direct style; they perform comprehensive client assessments, develop effective treatment plans, and work with other providers to secure needed and effective therapeutic programs.
Donna uses the skills and techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Skills (DBT) and Mindfulness in her sessions. Donna brings the wisdom of 35 years of marriage and raising five adult children to her practice.
She is committed to the improvement of her skills in the field of mental health through continuing education, training seminars and collaboration with other professionals.
Donna is a high honor graduate of The State University of Rutgers Masters Program of Social Work.
